Mechanics - Basic Rules - Combat Sequence
Combat occurs in rounds
Each combatant takes their turn(s) starting with the highest initiative score and working down. Even characters with negative scores get to have a turn (eventually).
Within a Turn
Take a Main action (usually an attack), or do nothing as your main action.
Reset Successive Action Penalty.
Declare the end of your turn.
To Resolve an Attack
Roll the attack maneuver.
Roll the defensive maneuver (if any).
If attack successes remain then the attack hit. The remaining successes are damage.
Resolve “On hit” effects (if any).
Roll or add bonus damage (if any).
p(. Soak Damage (if able).
Assign Wounds (if any damage remains).
Determine the state of the injured combatant.
