Mechanics - Modifiers - Targeting Body Parts

Some maneuvers allow the character to target specific body parts.

The maneuver used will list the penalties for doing this.

Additional effects are listed below.

Body:

Effects None. By default attacks target the body if no other part is specified.


Heart:

Limit Penetrating Attacks only.
Effect Ordinary Humans who, after Soak, takes a wound of 5 or more levels from an attack aimed at their heart is killed instantly.
Note This is different from just aiming for the center of mass, this is specifically aiming for the heart and as such usually has a penalty associated. If the maneuver doesn’t list a penalty but the storyteller rules it can penetrate the penalty is -1 dice.


Head:

Effects Target gains +1 to Soak.
+2 Stagger Penalty per wound dealt after Soak.
An ordinary human who, after Soak, takes a wound of three or more Lethal or Aggravated damage from a single attack to the head is killed instantly.


Arms:

Effects Target gains +1 to Soak.
A wound taken to a arm is limited to a maximum of three levels of damage from a single attack.
An ordinary human who, after Soak, takes a wound of three Bashing damage from a single attack to an arm loses the use of that arm for at least a turn.
An ordinary human who, after Soak, takes a wound of three Lethal or Aggravated damage from a single attack to an arm loses the arm, (amputated, or horribly broken, burned, etc).


Legs:

Effects Target gains +1 to Soak.
A wound taken to a leg is limited to a maximum of three levels of damage from a single attack.
An ordinary human who, after Soak, takes a wound of three Bashing damage from a single attack to a leg loses the use of that leg for at least a turn.
An ordinary human who, after Soak, takes a wound of three Lethal or Aggravated damage from a single attack to a leg loses the leg, (amputated, or horribly broken, burned, etc).


Groin:

Effects +2 Stagger Penalty per wound dealt after Soak.
