At the start of each round all combatants roll initiative to determine the order in which they take turns.

Roll [Wits + Alertness]
Note This maneuver takes a penalty equal to 1 + the Successive Action Penalty the character took to its Main action on its last turn. This is instead of the character’s current successive action penalty.
Effect Successes add to the character’s initiative score.
Alternate Effect Botches reduce the character’s initiative score.
Alternate Effect In the case where the character’s roll was reduced to zero by penalties, the character’s initiative score is reduced by the amount the penalty exceeded its original dice pool.
